About
I am a soprano, based in London and currently studying with Ashley Stafford. Recent performance highlights include the role of the Countess in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, and as a soloist for Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem at the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford.
I'm also a scientist, and after reading Physics at Mansfield College, Oxford, I recently completed a doctorate in Atmospheric Physics supervised by Philip Stier and Don Grainger at the University of Oxford, and Andy Jones at the Met Office Hadley Centre. My research investigates some of the complex interactions between aerosols (airborne particles) and clouds, focusing on the indirect effects of anthropogenic aerosols on climate.
I've also been involved in several science outreach activities, including the live action show Accelerate!, running a bicycle-powered disco, and appearances on BBC Radio Oxford. In my spare time I love cycling and my specialities are truing wheels in remote locations in the pouring rain and map-reading on the back seat of a tandem.
If you would like to pay me to talk about science, do science, sing or fix your bicycle then get in touch!
